Agenda items

President's report

President welcomed new board members.

Treasurer's report

We have $6024.86. The treasurer will investigate moving the checking account from Wachovia to a bank with lower fees.

Committees

Membership: There are 56 active members.

Old business

Wood chips: Irene tried Fairmount Park, the Councilman's office, and Robin Schatz without success. Next steps: George will try to go in person to the Councilman's office. We can also investigate purchasing chips and contact the Citizen's Alliance.

New business

A work day was scheduled for 5/16/04 11AM to 2PM. If we have chips, we'll spread 'em. Otherwise we'll do cleanup and repair the inner gate and fence.

Changes to rules: Irene moved to change the rule regarding minors from "Young children should be supervised" to "Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult". Also that we should make an effort to get name, address, phone number and dog information from everyone who uses the park. Frank seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Irene brought two proposals for signs. One asks visitors to fill out a membership form. The other reminds visitors to "B.Y.O.B." -- Bring Your Own Bag. Neil will lay them out and bring proofs to next meeting.

Board meetings: It was decided that meetings should be held the first Monday of the month, locations TBA.

Neil reviewed proposed changes to membership brochure: Update board list, changed "Guidelines" to "Rules", changed rule about children in park, added "Conflict resolution" section, changed all phone numbers to Jason's, change membership form to allow nonpaid members to submit information.

Respectfully submitted,

Neil Kohl
Secretary
