Board members present:
Jonathan Sher, Irene Lambrou, Pat Mahoney, Jason Widdows, Brian Burger, Tim Boylan, Neil Kohl.
Others present:
Jonathan called the meeting to order at 6:10PM.
Tim motions to approve, Brian seconds. Minutes were approved unanimously.
Insurance has been paid. Slate at the gate was a good idea for controlling puddles. We had a successful houndaween. A neighbor has a sidewalk trenching tool for installing the water which should reduce the cost of having water installed.
For the past month, income was: Membership dues, $180; Houndaween donations $176. Expenses were: Insurance, $1125; Neil Kohl website expenses, $162; Houndaween expenses, $176.
Jason moves to approve. Irene seconded. Approved unanimously.
Lighting: PECO can install a light on 3rd St if the Mulberry tree is removed. The garage and Bart's property are less attractive but viable options. Irene and Jason will talk to the guys in the garage. Tim will call PECO or DiCicco's office to see about getting a light on the pole at 3rd St.
Water will be installed in the spring.
Jason will look at the front gate to see if it needs to be replaced.
Aggressive dogs/owners. How do we deal with inappropriate behavior in dogs or people? Recent incidents were a dog in heat, Gilly getting attacked, a woman hitting her dog with a stick. The consensus is that infrequent users are a large problem who aren't aware of the rules. Unless the park is closed to nonmembers (a la West Philly) this will continue to be an issue. The feeling of the board is that the first step is improving the signage: more signs, more explicit signs. Irene will draft a sign for the front gate for the next meeting.
Irene moved to change the Park Guidelines to Park Rules. Brian seconded. Passed unanimously.
Pat proposed giving a $50 gift certificate to Walt Gilpin for his work on Houndaween. Jon seconded, passed unanimously.
There being no further business before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Neil Kohl
Secretary
